Coming soon to South Africa

Closer by choice.

TwoKeys is a space for couples where trust is shared, never taken. You both opt in, you each choose what you share, and either of you can step away at any time.

Joining takes two keys. Leaving takes one.

How it works

Two keys, one shared space. Nothing opens unless you both turn your key.

  1. You invite, they choose

One of you sends an invite. Your partner accepts on their own phone, with their own login. Nobody can say yes on someone else's behalf.

  2. You each set your own switches

Check-ins, weekly questions and location sharing each have their own on/off switch. You choose yours, they choose theirs, and you can see exactly what each one shares.

  3. Your shared space opens

Only once you've both said yes. From there you can check in, answer questions together and find support when things get hard.

  4. Either of you can step away

Leaving needs one key, not two. Nobody has to approve it, sharing stops straight away, and your shared data is deleted.

More about how TwoKeys works

What you'll be able to do together

Coming soon. Here's what we're building.

  • Check in, without the pressure

A quick daily check-in: how you're feeling, how much energy you've got, and what you need tonight, whether that's time together, some space, or just a hug. No read receipts, no “last seen”, nobody keeping score.

  • Honest questions, answered together

Once a week you both get the same question. Neither of you sees the other's answer until you've both replied, so you're each speaking for yourself. Not ready for one? Skip it. No explanation needed.

  • A pause button for hard moments

When an argument starts running hot, either of you can call a 20-minute pause with a kind message and a time to come back to it. Simple scripts and a short breathing exercise help you pick it up calmly.

  • Help is one tap away

SADAG, LifeLine, FAMSA, the GBV Command Centre and SAPS (10111) will always be a tap away, inside every hard conversation too. You'll find their numbers below right now. A quick-exit button takes you to a neutral screen if you need it.

Our privacy promise

When TwoKeys launches, here's what we promise. TwoKeys only works when both of you choose it. Nothing is shared until you've both said yes, and every feature has its own on/off switch. We never read your messages, never track you in secret, and never switch on a camera or microphone. Location sharing is off by default; if you turn it on, it's for a time you choose, you'll always see that it's on, and one tap stops it. Either of you can leave at any time without asking permission, and your shared data is deleted. Safety features will always be free.

What TwoKeys will never do

TwoKeys is not a monitoring app, and it never will be. These are promises, not settings:

  • No hidden apps, hidden icons or “monitoring mode”.
  • No reading your SMS, WhatsApp, email, DMs, call logs or browsing history.
  • No location without a visible indicator, and no location history.
  • No switching on a camera or microphone, and no recording calls or chats.
  • No accounts set up for someone else, and no consent given on someone else's behalf.
  • No read receipts, “last seen” or “where were you at 3pm” logs.
  • No use by or for anyone under 18.

If you're worried someone is using an app to watch or control you, that isn't your fault, and help is available. See helplines.

Leaves this site straight away and opens Google. The Back button won't bring you back here.

If you need help now

You don't need to wait for TwoKeys to reach out. These South African services are free or low-cost and confidential.

In immediate danger? Call SAPS on 10111.

Numbers checked 18 October 2026 (POWA updated 29 October 2026).

Questions you might have

Can I use TwoKeys to check up on my partner?

No. TwoKeys is built for trust you both give, not trust one of you takes. It never reads messages, never tracks anyone in secret and never switches on a camera or microphone. Your partner only sees what they've chosen to share.

Can my partner see where I am?

When TwoKeys launches, only if you choose to share it, and only for a time you pick, like “until I get home”. Location sharing is off by default, you'll always see when it's on, and one tap stops it. Sharing yours never requires theirs, and no location history is kept.

What happens if one of us wants to leave?

Either of you can leave at any time, alone, without asking permission. Sharing stops immediately and your partner gets a neutral message that the shared space has closed. Shared data is deleted, and permanently removed from our systems within 30 days.

Is TwoKeys a replacement for counselling?

No. TwoKeys offers everyday wellbeing tools for couples. It isn't counselling, and it's not a substitute for a professional. That's why South African support services are always one tap away in the app.

Who can use TwoKeys?

Adults aged 18 and over, in a relationship, who both want to use it. Each person signs up on their own device with their own login.

When does it launch, and what will it cost?

We're starting with a small group of South African couples. Join the waitlist and we'll tell you when it's your turn. Safety features, like help links, leaving and stopping location sharing, will always be free.

What do you do with my waitlist email?

We use it only to tell you about TwoKeys early access. We don't sell or share it, and you can ask us to delete it at any time. See our draft privacy policy for details.
